Good communication is about warmth and authenticity. We don’t tend to worry about whether we’ll run out of things to say or how we’ll get from one subject to another when we’re chatting to friends or family. Communicating effectively at work involves bringing the same ease and spontaneity in less natural situations, when there is a message to deliver or nerves can get in the way.
